Description
Allantoin is a natural compound found in plants and can be synthetically produced. It is a moisturizer, anti-irritant, and skin healer and is commonly used in skin creams, lotions, and serums. Allantoin is water soluble and slightly soluble in alcohol, while having a pH of 3.5-6.5. To use allantoin, add it to your formulation in the cool down phase.
Essentially Natural Allantoin is naturally found in plants (e.g. comfrey root) and produced synthetically in the lab to be nature identical for commercial use. It is a white, odorless powder that is often used in skincare and cosmetic products, because of its ability to promote cell regeneration and healthy tissue production.
Why we love it: Allantoin is known for having both anti-inflammatory and skin healing properties, so it actively helps to soften, protect and soothe the skin. Because Allantoin is so gentle, it is often included in lotions, creams and ointments.
